The IP6518 is an integrated synchronous buck converter that supports Type-C output and is compatible with 13 fast charging protocols including USB PD, DCP (Apple, Samsung, and BC1.2), Qualcomm QC2.0/QC3.0, MTK PE+1.1/PE+2.0, Huawei FCP/SCP, Spreadtrum SFCP, etc. It can automatically identify the fast-charging protocol supported by the device connected to the output end through CC1/CC2 or DP/DM and automatically adjust the output voltage and current. It provides a complete solution for car chargers, fast charging power adapters, and smart power strips.

About IP6518
IP6518 is a buck converter with integrated synchronous switch, supporting 13 kinds of output fast charging protocols, supporting Type-C output and USBPD protocol, providing a complete solution for car chargers, fast chargers, and smart power strips.
IP6518 has a built-in power MOS, with an input voltage range of 10.5V to 32V, an output voltage range of 3V to 20V, and a maximum output power of 45W. It can automatically adjust the output voltage and current according to the recognized fast charging protocol, with typical output voltages and currents including: [email protected], [email protected], 7V@3A, 9V@3A, 12V@3A, [email protected], [email protected]. The buck conversion efficiency of IP6518 can be as high as 97%.
The output of IP6518 has CV/CC characteristics, switching to CV mode when the output current is less than the set value, keeping the output voltage constant; switching to CC mode when the output current is greater than the set value, decreasing the output voltage. The output voltage of IP6518 has a line compensation function, increasing the output voltage in response to an increase in output current to compensate for voltage drop caused by impedance of connecting wires.
IP6518 has a soft start function to prevent the impact current from affecting the stability of the input power during startup. IP6518 supports Type-C interface output, integrating various fast charging protocols, automatically identifying the fast-charging protocol supported by the device connected to the output end through CC1/CC2 or DP/DM, and then adjusting the output voltage and current automatically.
The fast-charging protocols supported by IP6518 include: DCP (Apple, Samsung, and BC1.2), Qualcomm QC2.0/QC3.0, MTKPE+1.1/PE+2.0, Huawei fast charging protocol FCP/SCP, Spread rum fast charging protocol SFCP, and USB PD output protocol. IP6518 has multiple protection functions, including input overvoltage, undervoltage protection, output overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, and short circuit protection. IP6518 is packaged in a 4*4mm QFN24 package.
The main output capacitor is a 1000uF solid capacitor, which can greatly reduce ripple while satisfying the 20V output of PD.
