CN3058 LiFePO4 battery charger circuit. CN3058E is an integrated circuit that can manage constant current/constant voltage charging for single-cell lithium iron phosphate batteries. The device includes power transistors internally, eliminating the need for external current sensing resistors and current limiting diodes. CN3058E requires only a few peripheral components, making it highly suitable for portable applications. The thermal modulation circuit can control the chip temperature within a safe range when the device has high power consumption or the ambient temperature is high. The internal fixed constant voltage for charging is 3.6V, which can also be adjusted through an external resistor. The charging current is set through an external resistor. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power) is disconnected, CN3058E automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, with battery current consumption less than 3 microamps. Other features include input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharging, battery temperature monitoring, and charging status/charging completion indication. CN3058E is available in a small package with enhanced heat dissipation, the SOP8 package.
